3rd Region Hoops— As the legendary late Country artist & long time friend of the 3RH Team, George Jones sang it… ITS FINALLY FRIDAY! The Breck/Meade party takes center stage in the 3rd Region, by way of Breckinridge County High School. Tonight’s Boy/Girl double header is this weeks 3RH Boys & Girls Game of The Week! Before we get to the game, let’s chat for a minute. No secret, the Breck GIRLS program & the entire Breck Athletic community has had a rough go as of late. Preseason Coach of The Year Chad Moorman remains in Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious health issues & we ask that everyone continue to pray for him & his family as they navigate through difficult times. Coach Moorman has been exceptional to our team & we continue to think of him & just like everyone else, remain optimistic that Coach will push through the current set back!

We’ve said it many times across our platforms but it rings true more today than ever, “Ain’t no party like a Breck/Meade party cause a Breck/Meade party don’t start.” You will NOT find many environments like you’ll find tonight. Let’s get to the action.

3RH Thoughts On The Game:

The Breck Co program has saw the 23/24 season filled with adversity but the Lady Tigers come into tonight’s BITTER rivalry game winners of 9 of their last 11. This game obviously loses a bit of its “spice” because of everything going on outside of the locker room, but this is still Breck/Meade & it don’t take a lot of pushing to get the players ready for this game. Look for Breck to rally behind Chad Moorman & play with passion, fight & determination. Acting HC Brad Carby picked up his first win in blow out fashion over Apollo earlier in the week. This will be a CRAZY environment & this Breck/Meade girls matchup ranks as one of, IF NOT the BIGGEST rivalry in Girls basketball in the 3rd Region. Meade Co comes in winners of 4 in a row & Peyton Bradley, Paige Medley & Annabelle Babb continue to spear head a very potent offense that can score points in a hurry. The Lady Wave have won 7 straight in this rivalry & will come into the evening as the favorites. Enemy territory awaits Dina Hackert & her squad with massive district implications on the line!

3RH Thoughts On The Game:

Speaking of massive district implications… this one has it! Meade Co came into the season as the favorite to win the 11th District & everyone else was fighting for 2nd place. Well, Breck has had other plans and went into Brandenburg and completely dominated the Wave. That was & still is one of the biggest surprises of the season. Both Breck & Meade come into tonight losers of 2 of their last 3. With a win tonight, Breck SHOULD handle business the rest of the way and secure the 1 seed in the district. Meade Co has won 4 of the last 6 meetings VS Breck Co & with a win tonight can regain momentum in the district and would make things very interesting as to who ends up with top overall seed in the district. Garrett Hardesty & Mercer Rodgers are the household names and will be the brunt of the opposing student section. From a regional standpoint the Breck/Meade rivalry has featured the girls matchup but you simply live under a rock if you think this doesn’t carry the same weight between these two teams on the boys side. Though some may disagree, this game is a MUST WIN for BOTH teams!
