3rd Region Hoops— It’s All “A” Championship night in Calhoun KY in the 3rd Region. On the girls side, we’ll get a matchup between the number 5 team in the state, the Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces (10-2) & the Hancock Co Lady Hornets (5-9). These two teams faced each other during last seasons 3rd Region All “A” tournament & Kevin Husks squad beat the Lady Aces 56-51. You’d be crazy if you don’t think that loss has stuck with HC Michael Robertson & that O’Cath locker room. Hancock & O’Cath aren’t necessarily fond of each other, which in knowing that, it makes tonight’s matchup that much more juicy. The Lady Aces are, according to @Ky_Lines, 18 point favorites! Lady Hornet Senior Ella House has been stellar for Hancock Co & will look to shock the state & pull off the upset.

On the Boys side, it’s O’Cath VS McLean County. O’Cath (8-3) comes in playing as well as anyone in the region, winners of 6 consecutive games. Junior guard Luke Beickman has been elite through the Aces first 11 games. A 3RH Midseason first teamer, Beickman averages 20ppg & 7rpg for Tim Riley! McLean County (12-2) comes in a 6 point underdog according to @Ky_Lines. The Cougars also have a 3RH Midseason First Teamer in Junior Gunnar Revelett who averages 19ppg & 6rpg. Revelett has taken his play up a notch as of late with Senior Guard Brodie Cline not in the lineup consistently. The Cougars enter tonight feeling a bit disrespected & will look to claim the 3rd Region All “A” title. You can take it to the bank that McLean Co faithful will be out in full force tonight.
