3rd Region Hoops— Much has been made over the last year about the struggles of Muhlenberg County after being the King of The 3rd Region for 2 years. Yes, last season was rough. Well, it was AWFUL for the folks of Muhlenberg, BUT.. in a historically bad year, the Mustangs still won the 10th District Title & a lot of varsity experience returns this season. Now I know, the Mustang faithful is reading this thinking we’ve went off the rocker after the Mustangs fell to Hopkins County Central last night., However, looking at last nights results, the 3RH team has been & remains confident that things will continually improve as the season goes on. Can we explain why? Great, Let’s do it—

Preseason 3RH Hoops 1st Team member Madox Jernigan sat out the whole first half due to unspecified reasons, and didn’t get into any kind of flow offensively in the 2nd half. If he isn’t sitting the first half, Aaron Morris starts the season (1-0). Positive news? Jernigan will play as normal moving forward which is big. He’s a great player in the 3rd Region. You can bank on improvement because Jernigan is in a Mustang uniform.

Want more reason to be confident in things being better? Isaac Coats had himself a time last night scoring 22 points. Coats, along with Madix Brannon & Jace Sommers are poised to have big years and will fill the void of Kanyon Johnson who is no longer in Muhlenberg.

Greenville, Smile. IMPROVEMENT WILL CONTINUE! You guys are spoiled with tradition & you won’t stay down long & after all, you guys are king of the 10th District until McLean or Ohio can prove to beat you… Take it on easy on Coach Morris and the staff. Those guys have proven to be successful. Every single one of them on the bench.
