3rd Region Hoops— The first BOYS 3RH Game of The Week of the 23/24 season is upon us. Tomorrow night (11/28) we head over to Apollo High School to feature the Hancock County Hornets & the Apollo Eagles. Two programs who bring in head coaches entering their first season at the helm in Josh Roberts for Hancock & Ryne Tinsley.

This is Hornet Head Coach Josh Roberts second stint leading Hancock Co & Ryne Tinsley’s first ever game as a Head Coach at the Varsity Level.

Apollo (5-23 last season)

Key Loss- Zjhan Tutt.

Key Returner- Junior Guard Kobe Kelly (10ppg last season)

Key Newcomers- Eli Williams, Landon Henning & Tate Powers.

Hancock County (18-12 last season)

Key Losses- 2023 Graduating Class

Key Returners- Juniors Alex Madden & Dylan Morris. Senior Jordon Payne.

3RH Thoughts On The Matchup:

This matchup features 2 programs in rebuild mode. Apollo has been historically bad as of late but bring in an abundance of youth & optimism. Head Coach Ryne Tinsley has began the process of building the Brand of Apollo Basketball back to relevance. Hancock County is in a similar position after graduating a really good senior class last season, Josh Roberts takes over again, this time in a different situation., with very little varsity experience returning. Roberts is respected amongst his peers in the 3rd Region & his Hornets team will play hard. This game SHOULD be a competitive one from start to finish in Owensboro.
